One path, from a question to a doctor.
Our three programs run as a sequence in each village. A woman who comes to a session is invited to the next camp, and anyone who needs treatment is walked through to it.
Sakhi health sessions
Sessions are run with the ASHA workers and ANMs women already know, using a training book we have printed for ASHA workers. We cover menstrual health, anaemia, pregnancy, menopause and the warning signs worth getting checked. Questions are welcome, and nothing is too small to ask.
Early screening camps
A one-day camp in the village, run with the primary health centre team, ANMs, ASHA workers and volunteer doctors. Women are checked for the conditions most often missed, and anyone who needs care leaves with a referral and a named person to follow up.
Care connect
Anyone who needs care is linked to the primary health centre or a government hospital, helped with transport and scheme paperwork, and followed up by phone until she has been seen.
